SaveGuild

Your Discord community, backed up and recoverable

Members verify once with Discord. SaveGuild can pull them back into your server after a raid or mass kick, bring them into a replacement if the server is lost, and back up your roles and channels.

  • Only members who agree are ever added
  • Uses Discord's official API
  • Members can delete their data any time

Set it up once, before you need it.

SaveGuild works in the background from the moment your members start verifying.

  1. 1

    Add SaveGuild to your server

Sign in with Discord and add the SaveGuild bot to a server where you have Manage Server.

  2. 2

    Share your verification link

Members approve SaveGuild on Discord's own consent screen. Each one is added to your register.

  3. 3

    Recover if you have to

Rebuild your roles and channels from a backup, then bring verified members into the new server.

What SaveGuild keeps for you.

Verification

Members choose to be on the register. They see exactly what they're allowing on Discord's screen before they approve it.

Backups

Your structure, saved. Roles, channels and permissions, by hand or every day.

Recovery

Members back in one run. SaveGuild adds each verified member to the new server and reports every result.

Member control

Members stay in charge. Anyone can see which servers they verified for and revoke one, or delete everything.

What SaveGuild can bring back.

Better to know now than during an emergency. SaveGuild only restores what Discord lets bots read and create.

Brings back

  • Roles, their colours and their order
  • Categories, channels and permission overwrites
  • Members who verified and haven't revoked SaveGuild
  • A record of who verified, and when

Can't bring back

  • Message history
  • Members who never verified
  • Emojis, stickers, webhooks and bot integrations
What does verifying let SaveGuild do?
It lets SaveGuild see the member's username and avatar, and add them to a server. SaveGuild only uses that to bring them back into the server they verified for, or its replacement. Each time, they get a DM from SaveGuild with a one-click opt-out.
Can SaveGuild add people who never verified?
No. Discord only lets an app add someone who has authorised it. Members who never verified can't be recovered, which is why it's worth sharing the link early.
What happens if a member changes their mind?
They can revoke their verification from the privacy page or from Discord's Authorized Apps. SaveGuild deletes their authorization when no verified servers are left.
Can it restore messages?
No. Discord doesn't let bots recreate message history. Backups cover roles, channels, permissions and server settings.
How long does a recovery take?
Discord limits how quickly members can be added to a server, so large communities take a while. SaveGuild works through the list in the background and shows progress as it goes.
What permissions does the bot need?
View Channels, Create Invite, Manage Roles and Manage Channels. For a restore that matches your backup exactly, give it Administrator for the duration of the restore.
